Plot Twist: The Ancestors Wrote The Syllabus
Intro to Black Herbalism Praxis 101 is kicking off. This is the syllabus and book list.
Happy Black History Month! I’m so ready to start teaching this class. While it does have a university title that reflects the Hillmantok trend, please note that this is not a formal classroom. We are going to vibe, have a great time, and pursue learning in a collaborative environment. I will upload on an irregular schedule - there is no rush to get through this material and there will be plenty of time for homework (oh, you thought there wouldn’t be a little homework).
In order for me to serve as a reference for your herbal education, the following will be required:
Active participation in the class chat. The chat will be opened when the first lesson is posted.
Final project completed and submitted for review 2 weeks after the final lesson has been uploaded.
Don’t panic. This isn’t a classroom remember? There is flexibility on how these things are submitted and in what format, so please don’t hesitate to reach out to me with your accessibility needs.
Without further ado, here is your class syllabus and book list. There is only one required reading for this course, everything is else is optional however I will reference it in course material. I have provided PDFs where available to make this as accessible as possible. Please note that this is a living outline that may flex and change depending several factors. However, this is an excellent basis for what we will cover.
